Week In Review: October 15, 2012

Sunday was a beautiful, crisp Autumn day – perfect weather for Alison’s first cycling event.

After months of personal training, Alison was more than ready to take on the 55 miles of traffic free NYC & NJ cycling.   Starting @ Pier 92  West Side Highway, turning left on Canal Street, racing through the Holland Tunnel to NJ.  Climbing River Road towards 9W.  Finally crossing the George Washington Bridge to bring us back on the West Side to the Finishline.

Along with Blue Ribbon Team, we cycled together to raised funds for this important cause.

Having multiple sclerosis means that you may not be able to walk when you wake up. Or that you may suddenly have impaired vision. Or that your memory will fail you for no apparent reason. The symptoms of MS are different for everyone – the only certainty is that it will affect yet another person every hour of every day. Funds raised in this ride are used by National Multiple Sclerosis Society to not only support research for a cure tomorrow, but also to provide programs which address the needs of people living with MS today. Because we choose to ride for those who sometimes can’t, because we choose to donate to Bike MS, we are getting closer to the hour when no one will have to hear the words, “You have MS.”
